WWF always aims to have a balanced environment which is favorable for native species. As we all know that deforestation leads to habitat loss and eventually specie lost. This is dreadful for a balanced and beautiful environment and totally unacceptable. The best solution for all these is to plant more trees.

Indigenous Trees Plantation WWF Eco Internship

On our forth day of Eco Internship, we got task to plant at least one indigenous tree at our home, school, garden or anywhere in our city. The importance of this sort of plantation was that it must be indigenous.

Question arises here that what is indigenous mean by?

For this instance we were already instructed by WWF's member Sir Usman. Indigenous directly means that something native. So in terms of trees we can easily understand that such trees which can grow and en-ripe their fruits in area.  for that particular area trees are native or indigenous. Like in our area GUJRANWALA Pakistan, sparrows are always in air and have nests in nearby village areas. Their habitats are usually trees such as KIKAR and SHISHAM.
But unfortunately industrialization and urbanization lead to deforestation and causes loss of habitat of sparrows. Villagers sell their lands to businessmen for developing new housing schemes and in theses schemes non-indigenous trees are planted. Such as City Housing Scheme has Palm trees which are nothing more than a shadow spot.

So for plantation of trees must selected which can grow in that area, which can provide us oxygen, provides habitat to our native birds and animals and provide us fruits too. If we spend money and plant non indigenous trees which takes several years to grow into a tree and behaves as an artificial one. that would not be fair for our future nations. We have to save these innocent sparrows as we are not brutal enough to see them found dead on roads , Why?

Because they can not build their nest on Beautiful palm trees.
There is always a natural balance , nature divided animals and birds and trees for them too. We must not disturb this balance other wise we have to built more hospitals than homes.

WWF Eco Internship Task Tree Plantation

During my WWF Internship I learnt this all. More over was our task. We were tasked to plant a fruit tree and take picture while planting. Then we have to write the scientific name of that tree and uses of that tree. With all this we have to e-mail our pictures to WWF.
I went to my garden and selected GUAVA tree for my plantation. I remember it was a cold morning of January. I was with my father, he shot the scene at different angles. First I worked on the ground to soften it and inserted new plant. After that I watered it. And take a picture of it. It was my first experience of planting a tree and what I felt , I could not explain in words.
I rushed to the next session of WWF after plantation. That was really soothing morning and i never lived a more happy moment than that.
